Ingredients

For 4 Serving(s)

Recipe

  • 1 teaspoon(s) cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoon(s) sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2/3 cup(s) milk
  • ½ teaspoon(s) vanilla
  • 8 slices of thick-cut bread
  • 4 tablespoon(s) butter

French Toast Directions

In a medium shallow bowl or pie plate, whisk together cinnamon, sugar, eggs, milk and vanilla.

In a 10 or 12-inch frypan, melt butter over medium heat. Mix egg mixture again, and then place slice of bread in the mixture. Flip the bread, allowing it to absorb some fluid. Remove and place it in pan. Add another coated slice to pan if there is room.

Cover and cook slices until golden brown, flip, and cook other side. Do not rush this; the bread needs to thoroughly cook or they will be soggy. Remove from heat.

Serve with warm maple syrup.

Note: The egg mixture has a tendency to separate, so whisk egg mixture before each slice of bread is coated.
